Space Ponder #8

  1. Space has no "up" or "down," but it does have microgravity. As a result, astronauts are weightless and can sleep in any orientation. However, they have to attach themselves so they don't float around and bump into something. Space station crews usually sleep in sleeping bags located in small crew cabins.Jun 8, 2015

  2. To make most freeze-dried foods, astronauts squeeze water into the food packages and then eat the food after it absorbs the water. Astronauts can use hot water to make hot meals that are tasty and nutritious. Some freeze-dried foods, like fruit, can be eaten dry.

  3. If you were eating outside in space it would be pretty hard to eat because of the gravity because in space there is no gravity in space and so if your not careful your food will just float away.

  5. Eating in space is not the same to earth. Because there food turns into bubbles and then you open your mouth and eat. There is another way you can eat in space you can freeze dry fruits and then put them in a sealed plastic bag and then when you are ready to eat you squeeze the dry fruit out and eat.

  7. I was thinking about washing your hands in space and I searched it up. you pretty much use water like soap you put it on your hands and then rub your hands together like soap, then you grab a towel then clean your hands normally. It is sort of normal but there are just a couple different physics. Luke

  8. If you tried to eat in space it wouldn't work because there is no gravity in space so the food would drift away

Next put your tooth brush In your mouth and suck off the water. then you get your tooth paste and squirt a little on, then just brush your teeth. 13. how sleeping is different in space. When you sleep in space you go into a little sleeping pod with a sleeping bag tied to the wall so you don't fly away.

  14. If you to sleep in space you would have to strap your self to a bed or a wall to prevent your self from bumping into thing while you sleep but on Earth you don't have to because there is gravity and you wont float away!

  15. If you brushed your teeth in space, you would have to have a bag of water and make a big bubble to make the toothbrush wet. When you are done you can't just spit in a bucket or on the ground because than everything will float around and make a big mess! So what you have to do is you have to just swallow the wet paste that you brushed your teeth with. Yuck! But the guy said that of course it is not poisoned and if you lived in the outside world than you would get use to it fast. Leilani

  18. There is no such thing as normal so there will be a huge difference in the way people in space
research has said that you would be strapped in when you sleep and that would be so uncomfortable and eating well it started to be in a tube and then they had make, package, dry and freeze food witch you just had to add water too.after the mpdf food there were tightly sealed packaged in like a tuna tin ( the tuna tin was in the packaging but it was not tuna in the tin) and they had a special spoon that kept the food stuck to it .

  19. Kia Ora my name is Jadarose,
Brushing your teeth in space is different to brushing your teeth on Earth. If you tried to brush you teeth in space you would have to use a small amount of tooth paste because you cannot spit, you would have to swallow it, and it is descucting and if you want to have a drink of water in space you can make it into a bubble and its really fun.

  22. on Earth we brush our teeth with a tooth brush and you open some tooth paste and you squirt a
little bit of tooth paste and you brush until you can't taste it. But in space you need to have special bag with a straw that's attached to the bag then you get your tooth brush then you get your tooth brush and squirt a little bit on the your tooth brush and you brush when your finished you swallow the tooth paste. Don't worry it won't kill you.

  23. I did some research about eating in space and that it is much different in Space than on Earth, because when you make a Burrito you have to break up the meat and then put it in the Tortilla. The Tortilla is much smaller than a usual size Tortilla so it makes it harder to make a small Tortilla because of Space and the small Tortilla.

  24. how is bushing your teeth so different to space? there are no taps in space but they bring a bag of water and you need to get your tooth brush wet and shake the water out of the tooth brush and don't put to much tooth paste. Then you have to clean it up and your teeth are like normal and fast and you have to swallow the tooth paste.
