Young Ocean Explorers

Today we had a visit from Riley from Young Ocean Explorers. Today she told us many stories about life in the ocean.

One thing that amazed us was that a Bryde whale can grow up to 15 meters long! That was almost as long as our school hall.

The boys helping Riley to measure 15 meters

We also watched a video of a baby Orca whale. It was very inquisitive of the boat Riley and her family were on.

What does the word inquisitive mean? Have you ever been inquisitive before? Tell me about this.

  2. Hi Room 24! It was a great assembly on Tuesday. I like how Riley gave us hope and inspired us to help the ocean. If we all do something every day (like picking up rubbish) we can make a difference.
Inquisitive - I am always keen to learn more about how I can help children learn. I am also interested in learning how to understand what my cat is thinking - if only he could talk!

  13. Kia ora, my name is Leilani. The word inquisitive means to be really interested or curious about something.
I was inquisitive about listening to Riley talk about all her journeys under water, and what is happening to all the sea animals, like they are dying because of pollution, boats are going to fast and injuring them. I'm doing some slides with Aundreah about turtles, for Green Week.

What is your favourite sea animal? Leilani.
