Talofa Lava!

Wow! What a great week we have had this week.

We have been learning a few things about the Samoan culture; the language, some traditions, dances and a game or two.

We ended our week with an assembly. Students from around the school performed for us.

Fa'afetai tele lava to all who taught us a thing or two about your culture!

Special Olympic Guest

Yesterday we had a special guest to visit Kauri team. She is well known for boxing. She has been in the Commonwealth Games and the Olympic Games. In 2014 she came 9th out of 14 competitors, for boxing. But she did not let this stop her from getting a medal. In 2018, she won a bronze medal.

She taught us about courageous and how success isn't always in a straight line. You need to make mistakes and learn from those mistakes to be successful in life. Don't be afraid to try new things! BE BRAVE!

Can you guess who came and visited us?

Amazing Stardome Trip

On Friday the 17th of May, Room 24 joined Room 22 and Room 25 for a trip to the Stardome Observatory.

We had a workshop with Josh and learned a lot about space, the stars and the planets. We really liked learning about the Rocky Midgets. They are called the Rocky Midgets because they are small and they have a rocky terrain (terrestrial planet).

Rocky Midgets are the 4 small planets (dots) on the right

We also got to go into the planetarium to watch a movie about space. We all really enjoyed this!

What do you think makes planets orbit?
