Duffy Books

We had a visit from Daniel Faitaua, from TVNZ Breakfast.

He shared with us his love of reading. He really likes reading the Hungry Caterpillar to his children.

We love reading! We love our new books!
Thank you Duffy for our books!

This week we have been learning about the ocean and how we can protect it.
You can protect the ocean by:

  1. Picking up rubbish from the ground before it goes down the drain
  2. Use reusable bags and bottles
  3. Don't litter your rubbish
  4. Reduce your plastic
Here is an animation from some students in Room 25 sharing what they have learned this week:

If you see rubbish, it is our responsibility to protect sea creatures. Pick it up!

Area and Perimeter Robot

We have been learning about Area and Perimeter. To calculate the Perimeter you need to measure the outside of a shape or object. To calculate the Area you need to measure the inside of a shape or object.

This is what we created while we were learning about Area and Perimeter:

We enjoyed this because:
  • we got to design it our own way
  • we calculated different numbers for Area and Perimeter
  • we also got to learn how to use google sheets.
Have a go at this activity. We had a lot of fun doing it.
