The Famous Sir Edmund Hillary

This week we have been learning about Sir Edmund Hillary. He believed himself to be just an ordinary New Zealander. We decided that we disagreed with this because:

  1. He was one of the first to climb Mount Everest.
  2. He was knighted by the Queen of England.
  3. He helped raise donations of money and materials to build the first school in Nepal in 1961.
  4. He is on the New Zealand $5 note.
This is why we believe that Sir Edmund Hillary is more than an ordinary New Zealander.

    Hi room 24 Liam from room 6 here, I liked how you added an explanation do everything you said about Sir Edmund Hillary.
    I think that he isn't a regular New Zealander because, He is SIR Edmund Hillary, and he was the first person to climb Mt Everest which isn't just a normal thing to do.

    you could say he was humble but then again that can be a kind of way to brag.

    Hi room 24 Samantha here from room 6.
    I think Sir Edmund Hillary isn't just a normal New Zealander because he was the first person to reach mount Everest's summit he was also knighted by the queen and not many normal people get that privilege!
    Those are my reasons, What are your's

    I think sir Edmund Hillary is a New Zealander Just not a ordinary one because he did extraordinary things
    1 He was of the first to climb Mount Everest.
    2 He was knighted by the Queen of England.
    3 He helped raise donations and materials to build the first school in Nepal in 1961
    4 He is on the New Zealand $5 note.

    Hey Rm 24, Its Gina here.
    I think that Sir Edmond Hillary is the most famous person in all of NZ because he built school's and Hospitals in a village which needed them. And he climed what was they insurmountable. Edmund doesn't boast about he doing things that other people can't, so he's very modest.
    Why do you think that hes more popular than other people.
