I think that the Samoan method of cooking is called a umu, have you ever had a umu?
umus and hangis are different because hangis are usually made in a deep hole but umus are made above ground.
I dont recall having any traditional Samoan food. but I googled images and it looks Delicious .

  15. Hi Room 24!
The name of the cooking method is called a Hangi. Yes, I have tried traditional Samoan food before. I have tried taro with coconut cream, taro's grow on trees in Samoa. I have also tried sapasui (chop Sui), witch is mostly served with rice. My mum also likes to cook buni popo's, they are soft bread with coconut cream on top.

Me and my family always like to have gathering and we each bring a plate. The gatherings are usually at my house.

  20. Kia ora, I think the similar cooking method to an "umu" was a hangi. I also remember eating/drinking a Samoan dish called koko laisa. Koko laisa is kind of like chocolate milk but it has a special type of rice in the bottom so the "CHOCOLATE MILK" has a chocolatey flavouring to it.

    See you around
