In room 22 we have been learning how to problem solve. This week we have been using a thinkboard to show our thinking while we are problem solving.

Green Week - All about Landfills

For week 6, Room 22 were curious about Landfills and how long it takes for TRASH to decompose. We were also curious about the benefits and consequences on the environment. 

We had such a great time building our own landfill. By the end of the lesson we had to describe a landfill, and explain some of the consequences on the environment.

School Focus: Getting Along

Our focus for Week 7 and 8 is GETTING ALONG.

In room 22, we are working hard on using our manners and kind words to make a more healthy learning environment.

Becoming Cybersmart with James

  

 James comes and visits us every Monday to teach us something new/ different on the chromebooks. This week he was teaching us to SMRF (said 'Smurf'). When we have a document that is view only, we need to SMRF it. We have to STOP, MAKE A COPY, RENAME IT, and FILE IT.

We then had a go at telling others how to SMRF a file. We did this by creating a set of instructions.

Another visit with our Buddy Class

We enjoyed reading so much that we decided to have another session in the library. 

Our first BUDDY CLASS visit!

Room 22 met their buddy class for 2017.  
We joined Room 1 in the whare pukapuka (library) for some reading together. We got to help Room 1 students and show them how to use the shelf markers when selecting a book to read.

We all had such a great time! 😊
